Around Feb/March, Aldi started to sell these delicious Dutch treats, (for around £1.40) but as it was a "seasonal" item, they're now oos in my Aldi. I've been on the hunt for a couple of weeks (since I'd exhausted my stocks
) and was about to venture further afield from my usual supermarkets, but tonight I popped into Mr T's - and they've started selling them :j They're £1.25 for 10, in the bread/cakes aisle (by the pancakes) and they're my favourite luxury item! Sadly not so good for the hips.......:( Just thought I'd post in case anyone else is an addict!
Not sure if it's nationwide though - nothing on mysupermarket just yet!

I had a transcendent experience when I first tried stroopwafels on a trip to Amsterdam. Mmmm. They are amazing. You can often find these little packages of heaven in Starbucks, and I'll be thrilled to be able to buy them from Tesco.0

I first discovered them on a trip to Rotterdam (and to those cynics out there, no, I hadn't visited one of those cafes
) Yep, little packages of heaven - you're so right tiger eyes
Sadly, I've hooked the whole family, so I now have to hide mine and smuggle bite size pieces into my mouth when no-one's looking

Just as a heads up, they sell these in most Sainsbury's too. I know because I too am addicted to them.
My first Stroopy (my nickname for them) experience takes me back to the tender age of 16. I was working at a wholesale garden centre and we used to get deliveries from all over Europe.
I was chatting to one of the Dutch lorry drivers about how he deals with the long journeys etc. He then ended up giving me a 30 minute lecture into the wonders of the stroopwafel.
"the chewy caramel centre surrounded with a hug by two loving waffle biscuits combine to make a mouth watering treat."
Next time he came with a delivery he gave me a whole box of them, and I mean a whole box (there must have been over 100 wafels in there).
I ate most and gave the rest away to my now stroopwafel converted friends.
It wasn't until uni that I rekindled my love for them (in Manchester) where I found them at the Christmas markets and then Sains shortly after.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed that tail of stroopwafel addiction.
Pro tip: Pop one in the microwave for about 30 seconds and then crumble/break up over vanilla ice cream.... WOW
ps. if anyone from a stroopwafel company sees this, please give me a taste tester job/free sample!0 -
down to £1 for 2 packets in sainsburys0

Do these by any chance sell under the brand name Daelman's?
As pointed out Sainsbury's sell Daelman's Mini Stroopwafels currently 2 for £2 until 02/07/2013, normally £1.29.
Tesco have Daelman's Stroop Caramel Waffles £1.25 and Daelman's Mini Stroop Wafels Caramel (200g) also £1.25.
Lidl were also selling Stroopwafels a few years ago as well, they were selling them for £1.49, don't know if they still sell them though.
Daelman's waffles are also mentioned on mySupermarket, however, if searching Tesco mySupermarket, enter Stroop wafels instead of Stroopwafels, or just search for Daelman's.
Incidentally, nothing appears to be turning up on Tesco's website after searching all terms. Not checked Sainsbury's though.
You could also add these to your price alerts on mySupermarket as well.0 -

Didn't know what Stroopwafels are so did a Google search and this popped up! Something else I have to try.0 -
My first came from a friends visit to Wales of all places, they're called Tregroes Waffles. They always seem to be available in garden centres! However most of the bigger Tescos do a version of them and as a last resort Costa do them.
They are perfect with weekend breakfast coffee, rested on the top of the coffee cup so they go nice and soft from the heat.
Bring on the weekend!!0 -
I'm going to have to buy these, so much for saving money lol!0

I should not have looked at this thread, now I feel I must head straight to Tesco!! I love these, but figured the ones in Starbucks are too expensive to justify buying regularly. I agree with GirlGeek, sit them on a hot cup for a minute and it's absolute heaven!0
