Decent physio forum recommendation? To discuss elbow pain, golfers elbow & cortizone

I found a physio forum, but it's pretty poor tbh. The turnover is extremely slow.
Basically i've had issues with my elbow since late last year. The physio didn't really do much with me & i ended up with a steroid injection (Kenalog) which i was told would cure all. It did - for 3 months.
After some googling, it sounds like i've golfers elbow, though at no point did the physio ever mention this to me.
I'm wanting to find a site to discuss exercises & the general advice that goes with these. The other option is to just jump in & guess, but i did that with my shoulder & made it worse - which is why i'd rather find a site with people to discuss this matter.
Before the GP is mentioned - i'm booked in, but it's an 8 week wait.
Anyone able to recommend such a site?

I'm specific about the GP i want to see though - part reason why there's an 8 week wait. This GP is very popular & is always booked out well in advance.
I could ring on the day, as they operate this system. Problem there is, i've called bang on opening time before, only for them to not answer the phones (8:00am). So i call immediately after hanging up (now 8:01am) and the phone is engaged.
I'll constantly hang up & redial until i get through .... sometimes this can be 8:20am-8:30am, by which time all the appointments have gone.
Know what the receptionist tells you then? Well you should call up at 8am if you want a book on the day appointment.
This is why unless i feel it's vitally important, i no longer bother with BOTD.
I have actually made the appointment with view to getting a repeat steroid injection, however after i made the appointment i read up about it & now i'm not so sure it's the right thing to do, so i want to discuss this with the GP, as well as other things.
All i'm looking for (at the moment) is exercises for golfers elbow & how often these exercises are generally advised to do (rep quantity, per day frequency etc).
I'm not looking for anyone to advise me on my specific problem - as 1) nobody likes doing that online & 2) i wouldn't ask anyone to do that anyway. I can make my own decisions.
I've googled a few & keep getting the same 1-2 exercises, but no idea of frequency etc.
ATEOTD if i can't find such a site, i'll just have a guess & try the exercises out for as frequent as i think they may need to be done.0 -
Why not try another private physio/physio clinic that specialise in the type of injury you think you have so that someone with a particular interest/specialism in this area can reassess you?0

I've already been seen by a physio who told me what the problem is. They just never gave me any exercises for it if i recall right. Private physio costs & there's a good wait for an NHS physio.
I have pain on the inside of my elbow which all searching brings back to golfers elbow. The only thing is this all seems to bang on about tendons, where the physio ran some tests on me & said i passed the tendons test & they think the problem lays with my ligament/s.
When googling problems with elbow ligaments, google seems to ignore you & redirects you to tendon issues - golfers elbow again.
One thing's for sure though, i wont be going under the knife so easily this time round. I'd be quite happy for an MRI scan, but medical folk are quite reluctant to put you through for one in my experience.0 -
The Runners World UK site has a few good links for physios worth looking through, to get real advice though wont be free and can be quite expensive.0

A good physio will give you exercises/provide treatment, it can be expensive but surely worth exploring further to avoid surgery if at all possible. As with anything quality of service provide can vary hugely, so go via recommendation0

Is the original OP female..and of a certain age?
I had terrible problems with elbows, and then TWO adhesive capsules of the shoulder...other wise known by the innocuous name of 'Frozen Shoulder'.
..all meno related..HRT sorted it in three weeks
Google menopausal arthritis, tendonitis, or menopausal frozen shoulder. Or have a look http://www.patient.co.uk/ and search adhesive capsulitis, or menopause.
Never underestimate the power of hormones.0 -
The physio i saw was really good actually (i thought). I went for another injury that i'd had for about 4-5 months that wasn't going away. They gave me exercises, one of which was to hold a press up position (turn palms outwards so the heel of your hands are touching) on a gym ball.
Due to me having had an operation as a kid where i had part of my elbow removed, this put a fair bit of strain on the joint.
Stupidly i thought i'll just carry on as it must be doing my other injury some good & a bit of discomfort is fine. This went on a few times before i gave it up as it was TOO sore. 1 week after i stopped doing it, the pain in the elbow came & hasn't gone away since - that was probably about 8 months ago.
Thinking back though, i can't remember them actually giving me any exercises for my elbow. They just ran a few tests, gave me ultrasound & then injected me when i said i didn't think it was doing anything & all the while i was having to keep taking time off work.
For the record, i'm male. I just moan a lot
