Amazon Add-on Items

Wasn't too sure where to post this, but have other people come across this on Amazon?
Yesterday I went to buy a cheap item from Amazon £2.68 + free postage and was not allowed to buy it, I could only add it on to a £20+ order.
I admit I buy a lot of small items from Amazon as I cannot get out too much to shop around, but if I want/need something, then I need it now, not have to wait til I've accumulated a £20 order.
I did order it in the end, but it is from another co on the Amazon site and coming from HongKong, so when it will arrive I do not know.

I've not had this problem, I suspect it's just not economic for them to deal with such small orders, the handling costs would outweigh the cost of the product. The alternative for them would be to either sell the product in multiples or institute a minimum order value.0

I had this yesterday, but it allowed me to buy it when the total price of the 2 items was £20.28, so seems it's the total order price that counts, not that you must spend £20 before you can order the add-on. It makes sense because they still have to pay the postage i guess, so they would never profit with free delivery for the one item.......Smokefree since 27-9-20070

What did annoy me was that I was not given the option of paying for postage; at least when it comes from Amazon you know when it should arrive and any problem you are dealing with them, not some 3rd party0
