A message for Alan

I thought it would be nice for there to be a thread for people to offer some support to Alan.

None of us wished for the events of this weekend and the name calling and victimisation was very much against the feelings of the vast majority here. I hate the thought that someone has been left feeling emotionally battered and upset for trying to help.

So, Alan, please try not to take it too much to heart. The people who posted some cruel comments were not regular members and in no way reflected the views of the community.

I would very much like to see you return and I very much hope that you can move on and help us make this board a safe and pleasant place to be.

I sincerely hope that no one will use this thread for anything other than to offer their support to someone who is clearly distressed.

Please don't let a few people distract you from helping a LOT of people. I have found a lot of your posts very helpful since Ihave been posting on this site.

I hope you will reconsider and come back and post again.

I do hope you'll reconsider when you've had a while to collect yourself together.

I've been the end of really crappy stuff on the internet too, on a board where I felt I was amongst friends and it was horrible but I chose to ignore the bad and come back for those who I liked and who liked me.

Alan's wife pm'd me and he may be away for a while but she'll be absolutely delighted with this kind of support. I know she reads the posts but has stopped posting too. For a supposedly civilised race we humans can be the cruelest of all species. Come back soon mate!

Alan...I can only echo what everyone else said, a few months ago while I was at my darkest I posted something for advice & some of the comments you gave changed me..I wanted to walk away & never be seen again & you changed my mind..for that thank you

Alan, I have no clue what has happened, but don't let the !!!!!!!s get you down! You have been a fabulous surce of support and advice to me in the short time I've been here. Come back when you feel strong enough, we'll be ready to welcome you.

I remember when I first came across Alan - he was such a fragile soul. Being here I feel helped him grow in confidence and I feel so sad that thoughtless, insensitive individuals have crushed his his spirit.

Alan.... please don't let the "baddies" get you down. You are well respected and appreciated here. Please try and rise above it - don't let the bullies win!!!!
