Vanilla Extract

Just thought I would post this recipe that my sister got for me.

Home made vanilla extract

1/2 pint vodka or brandy
4 vanilla pods

1-Decant the vodka into a bottle.
2-Cut the vanilla pods lengthways and put it in the vodka.
3-Shake the bottle vigorously for 30 seconds.
4-rRepeat step 3 every day for the next 30 days
5-Filter vodka and vanilla mixture into clean bottle and use as vanilla extract.

If you want stronger vanilla flavour then this can be shaken daily for 6 months to a year.

I have just started mine off as I use loads of vanilla and I used cheepy Lidl vodka. Smelling good so far.
