I ordered a birth plate online from this company for my daughter's 30th birthday, supplied all the details they requested, and paid £45 by debit card. The plate duly arrived - having been made in Holland - but I noticed that the time on the 'clock' could not be read easily, and that there was an indentation right in the middle of the plate. I emailed the company to complain (and sent photos) and they say that the time definitely says 6.02pm, and that the indentation is part of the normal manufacturing process. I have 3 other birth plates for my children and not one of those plates has a dent in the middle, and times can be easily read.
The company are refusing to replace it, and I simply cannot give this plate as a present as it looks like a 'second' - bought cheaply from a market stall! Is there anything I can do?
Incidentally, their website boasts a 'no quibble guarantee', but this seems to apply only to the company, not the consumer.
