Quick cake question...

Helloo

Am sorting out my freezer and have a punnet of frozen raspberries here. I was just about to make fairy cakes, any reason why it wouldn't work to mush them up and throw them in? Will I need to amend the cake recipe at all?

Ta :)

    Xmas Saver!
I'd just throw them in at the last stage - i wouldn't adjust any of the other ingredients, I always raid the cupboards for different flavours x

I would just bung them in without mushing...at the last stage. They might, however, prove a bit "seedy" if that bothers you.

Likewise just chuck them in! I would add a little extra flour though to balance out the wet to dry ratio.

  • Make Muffins, I have a recipe for fresh fruit muffins that works perfectly with whole berries (I've used blackberries, raspberries and blueberries all very successfully) and they keep well in the fridge for a few days too. Raspberry and white chocolate is divine.

Thanks all. I went with mushing cause they were quite big and my cakes only little, so each would have just had one in, lol.
I chucked a handful of porridge in to dry it up a bit :)
