New York Wedding

We have been engaged for 18 months. Our original plan was to pay off our debts (will be clear in 16 months) and then super save and take our kids on holiday to the Caribbean and get married there with as many family and friends that would like to come.

Well this has caused so many arguments already and it's really stressing me out.

Well this week we have decided that we would like to go back to New York (where we got engaged) with just our kids and get married there.

Anyone ever done this? And recommendations?

No we haven't...... YET!

We are still undecided on what to do.
I don't get along with my father who thinks we are going away to be mean to him as he can't afford it.
Fianc!'s extended family (aunt, cousins, spouses) are ok in very small doses but seem to all think they are invited, when infact neither of us want them there. We both feel like we have to invite family because of obligation.
Our ultimate dream would be to run off and marry in Vegas but that wouldn't be suitable for our children.

We plan to get married in 2016. But who knows where in the world it will be!

Do it in Vegas and then hire a car and drive to LA and take the kids to Disneyland afterwards.

Tuscany suites has a lovely wedding chapel-just off the Strip so much more family friendly but close enough to walk to the Strip

Ah that's a shame...we have had a 12 year engagement and we're set to do a UK wedding. When I costed it I nearly fainted so we decided on NY and Florida after for the kids. It also stops any family shenanigans in its footsteps.


Ultimately it's YOUR wedding to do WHEN you want and HOW you want.

So flights and hotels booked for May!
