As always - grateful for all input. MSE is excellent in most situations. Thank you.
I was after some information to see if it's even worth me applying for a mortgage or will the DMP kill all chance of it getting approved?

Use the lump sum to reduce the DMP. You've little chance of obtaining a mortgage until you've established a good credit profile well past past settlement of the DMP. Therefore in your interest to clear the DMP as soon as possible.0
