I won one or two of these Newsquest competitions recently. I asked the lady from which newspaper it was that I had entered and she said that they can't tell. Once you enter the comp the email just goes through. So, although the competition may be featured on the Dorset Echo website it will also be on all of the Newsquest websites (similar to Bauer Media). I'm guessing this one originated from a York based newspaper so likely you'll have to collect from the York store.

In short, it doesn't matter if you enter via Dorset Echo, Worcester Times, Lancashire Guardian, Bradford Telegraph & Argus etc as they don't know where the entrant actually entered the competition (and don't care).

    Thanks for the help MB.

So in essence the rider re collection that they post on lots of comps seems a bit pointless.
They have a large portfolio of titles so we could collect from our local one?

Not sure regarding collection. I do think this one will be store collection, so probably only good if you live in N Yorks area, but worth having a go anyway.

The ones I've won via newsquest have been tickets and each time it's just been a case of turning up on the day with ID and telling them who you are and newsquest will have had your name put on the guestlist.

When you enter they only seem to have your name and phone number as I won a Nora prize pack (not received yet) and they phoned me asking me for my name and address to pass on to the company who would post the prize out to me.

Point I'm trying to make is, the comp might be in The Lancashire Telegraph newspaper, but you can enter via any of the newsquest papers online, i.e. in this case The Dorset Echo. I don't suppose they'll be expecting people to enter a comp to win tickets to watch some play at The Bolton Octagon via The Dorset Echo.

No problem.I understand exactly what you mean.I was not aware of the flexibility in prize fulfillment earlier.
Given their obvious flexibility I'll not post any more details re collection & hopefully it will not be an issue.
Pity they could not be clearer though :-)

Would be interesting to see if someone won a comp from a (for example) Lancashire Newspaper and they were based in (for example) London and if Newsquest just 'posted' it; well, when I say 'Newsquest' I actually mean the merchant - I'm pretty sure the merchant sends out the prize rather than the newspaper. So far, I've only won 'local' comps so I've not had any issue (even though I'm sure I've entered via Laks' 'Worcester News' posts). I always thought it odd that 'Worcester News' were hosting a (for example) 'Win tickets to Sunderland Speedway' - so when they phoned me this week with a comp win I quizzed the poor lady.
