Whole of market for commission paying products, but no independent option of direct-to-lender products, so you need to do your own research for them.Aberdeen_Taff wrote: »Thanks for your advice. L&C are calling back tomorrow with their findings so hopefully good news there. I don't think they are whole of market though?
Do you want/need a two year fixed rate, or are you looking at them only because the rates look lower than all others?
As I said, if the same product was suitable for everyone, there would be no other options. Would your needs and circumstances suggest a longer term rate may be more beneficial?I am a mortgage broker. My needs just now would suit a 2 or 3 year fix as I would anticipate promotion in that period and this will allow me to settle myself knowing I am about £850-900 PCM payment wise which is comfortable.
If I get the opportunity to overpay I will (or put it away and pay off at the end of 2 years if I can't overpay) and then I will know where I stand financially.
I like the look of some of the YBS ones - 2.19 for a 2 year fix.0 -
As mentioned, YBS is direct only, so L&C will not be able to advise or arrange with them. You need to establish if you'll be better off with such a deal.I am a mortgage broker. I will call YBS tomorrow. Would a broker get a better deal than the one on offer 'in the window'?0
