Fraud on cards - any help welcome

Hi.
My debit card has been used in 4 transactions to buy from Tesco Direct. The first 2 transactions appeared on the same day and I cancelled my debit card immediately. 2 further transactions then appeared which were no doubt carried out before the cancellation. All were done on the internet and Verified by Visa was used. Because VbV was used the bank will no longer refund me the amount. I am gutted to say the least. I couldn't remember that password if I tried as I use it so infrequently.
The bank says that I have to take it up with the merchant (Tesco) and I'd obviously like to know where the items were delivered to (or confirmation that the address was not mine to help my case).
If anyone has any advice or assistance then that would be really helpful. My credit card was also done but stopped immediately. I have not a clue how they managed all this and I suppose you never think that it will happen to you. C'est la Vie.
Any help on what else I might also be prepared for would be useful!
Thanks in advance.

Thanks jay-jay. I've got some conflicting information from the bank at the moment although everyone has made efforts to be helpful. the letter I received frightened the life out of me so I phoned, and they confirmed that I'd lost the lot, then I phoned back and was told that it was OK as they had discovered the IP address and it wasn't mine. They're following up on that. Waiting for more letters today... Ombudsman number would be useful. Stresed but grateful that I was in the Uk and not on holiday: a warning to all to check their bank accounts while they away!0
