Well, It's the OH's payday again and as you will see from the signature we have gone over and above our 1 grand target for August!!! Whoop!!!!!
This month's excess was going to go on repaying the credit cards we'd paid off but then used again, before I chopped them up - shhhhh, don't let the OH know! :rotfl:
but . . . we got a letter from a DCA for one of the OH's PDloans and we discussed it and decided to try for their offer of a reduced pay-off (full and final) so I went for it and offered to pay as me, his partner, rather than him trying and managed to arrange a full and final!!!!!!! So that's one of them gone :j:j:j - 3 to go!:eek::eek:
So these small cards I'll pay off with bits and bobs up to December and use the big money to focus on the PDloans for the next few months.
Tomorrow - I'm going to do a monthly cook - this is something I used to do but got out of the habit when we got too poor to buy food last year but it is so much cheaper to cook this way I've taken an extra day off over the weekend to get it all done!!
Tonight - grocery list and meal plan decided and then I'll update anyone who is interested in what I'll be cooking.
Riding a bit of a high at the moment with paying off something and saving 300 in the process! Now - i'm a big proponent of if you make the debt you pay it back but my god - I'm just glad its gone!!!
And - still on the e-cig - vaping now for 6 days and no fags! whoop!
Hope everyone is well xDebts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0 -
Hi C-R :hello:
I've just scanned through your diary - you're doing so so well!! Very exciting about your 3 year planI would like to be married by the time I'm 30 but also Debt Free and a house owner so a lot has got to happen in the next 3 years and 2 weeks (aaargh 27 at the beginning of September!!) BF is on board with the deft free and house owning plans but I have never actually mentioned my desire to walk up the aisle sometime in the next 3 years! All his friends are getting married at the moment, he's a couple of years older than me and he has told me he does want to get married so it could happen!! We shall see!!
You should be very proud of the big chunks of debt you are managing to pay off per month, I look at my snowball calculator all the time (have an app on my phone) and I'm constantly adding overpayments and seeing what they do to my DFD!! Makes me more motivated to pay off those pesky CCs!!
Good luck and keep plodding on!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Ooh what app do you use? This could be my perfect motivator!0 -

hey andrar - i don't know which one debtfreeby30 uses - but i've done a quick app search and there is one called 'Debt Free - Pay Off your Debt With Debt Snowball Method' - it seems to be 69p at the moment - not free, but it is 50% off!!
The app symbol is a blue square with a green tick and some gold 'credit card' images on the front if you get what I mean?
Debtfreeby30 might use a different one though - I'm not sure - but this one looks Ok! (without sounding like I work for apple or anyone else!!!) Don't know if I can justify the 69p though!! :rotfl: Actually maybe I can - going to have a think about it!!!

I paid 69p for a savings widget! I can add all my savings pots and add to the widget on my phone as I save it's a great incentive for not spending! I'm sure the snowball one will do the job for keeping your motivation going
have a good search for a free one first though
I paid for mine only after using three free ones that were all rubbish  lol x

I use "Debt Manager" which has a blue icon, I can't remember if I paid for it or not but it's great and if I did pay it wont have been much! (such a tight a55) You can add all your different debts and set up regular payments plus one off payments and it tells you when your DFD will be. I've used a couple free savings goal apps and they were pretty naff so I can see why you'd want to pay DFW!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Thanks DFW and debtfreeby30 and Andrar for popping in!!! (I'll get this round!!!!)
I might take a closer look at which ones are on offer and put all my info in! The only problem is, with tackling the PDLoans first-I don't know if I can reduce my debt free day until January so personally itching ill hold off then I won't get depressed not watching it going down but instead get the boot every time I overpay!!!!!
It's all abut psychology for me!! :rotfl: but.... I have changed my standing orders to higher amounts for my ccards starting from September 1st so they overpayment will star and hopefully have made an impact before the big push comes in January!!!
This weekend I've been batch cooking! Spent 45 pounds on food and made:
1x chicken curry (used up some paste in the fridge which would otherwise have gone to waste!)
3x vegetable lasagne
3x meat lasagne
5x bolognese
3x beef and lentil stew (a new recipe-hope it taste nice!!!)
4x burgers (with onion and Dijon mixed in!!!)
3x portions of hotdogs (were on offer for 1/2 price packs in t*sco)
1x portion of mince (I got bored!!!!)
1x pack of chipolatas!
2x banana and carrot cake (to use up old carrots and bananas)
So that is 22 main meals prepped in freezer ready to go-not including salad days and easy veg days (e.g risotto) so I don't need to buy any meat for hopefully more than a month!!!! Whoop :j (also got salad stuff for this week so should need to get any more food this week minimum)
Hoping this will cut our spends on food drastically-we will see!!!
The butchers were also giving tinned strawberries away at 20p per tin so got 10 of them and they're currently bubbling away with some rhubarb and apples from the market to make jam so overall a successful weekend so far! Phew!!!!:D
I need a drink!!!!!!!:rotfl:
Hope you're all have a more relaxing weekend!
