Defaults Notices

Hi,
I don't know if anyone can help, I've been in a CCCS agreement for the last 2 years to pay back my debt, I've still got default notices on my credit file.
I know they stay on for about 6 years but I've heard you can get these removed if the people have now agreed to the repayment arrangements.
Is this true? If it is do you know how i go about getting the defaults removed?

Hi,
I have heard something similar, but not sure how correct it is. Try contacting Experian and asking them - they should be able to help, and I think there is an email link on their website.

I don't think this is correct - technically by entering into a DMP you have defaulted on the original credit agreement. I suppose the company could remove it if you asked nicely, but they don't have to.BCSC Member 70:j

No, it isn't correct. The only way they would remove them is if you contact the company and ask them, although there is only a small chance they will do it and then I guess the amount would need to be paid in full.

Hi,
The following link should provide some useful information:
http://www.insolvencyhelpline.co.uk/default-notices/how-to-remove-default-notices.htm
In summary, "The only way to have these removed is by applying to the company or bank that served the notice on your file in the first place. In order to do this you will need to check through your credit file returned from the credit reference agency as to who actually placed the notice on your file. Once you have done this you should contact the people who placed the notice to see if you can come to any kind of arrangement."0
