hi guys
I need to re-carpet our house its a 3 bed semi in Halesowen west midlands, I need to do the lounge 13ft 5 by 11ft 11, and hall approx. 15ft by 3ft stairs and landing again about 15ft by 3ft, also 3 bedrooms 13ft 4 by 12ft, 11ft 11 by 10ft and 12ft by 8ft 9, I would also need underlay throughout and fitting, I don't want a really expensive carpet, and would prefer to buy decent underlay and an average priced carpet. i was thinking of buying my own underlay and carpet online, or from ebay or something then just pay for someone to fit it, which would probably be cheaper??, is it achievable for about £1000? thanks

I carpeted all my house (except dining room/kitchen and bathrooms) for £1200, that included underlay and fitting. The main carpet throughout the house is thinner but can cope with so much usage. My daughters room has a cute pink sparkly carpet and mine and the boys room is a really thick greyish colour, putting my feet on it first thing in the morning is bloody lush. All the rooms, especially upstairs are generous sizes and I have a big hall99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500

we bought underlay and accessories from here http://www.carpet-underlay-shop.co.uk/ then had an independent carpet fitter to do the work, was much cheaper than buying all from carpet shop:cool: Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age.
Sometimes age just shows up all by itself
