Sick pay help/boss

Hi I think this is only my 2nd post ever so sorry if it isnt in the correct place etc.

Just looking for some help..

I have worked for the same company now for 3 years (I have had 9 months maternity leave during this) but came back to work September 2012 doing less hours.
I dont think my boss has ever really liked me I come to work, work hard & do my job & go home to my family.
However they are all big drinkers here (I dont drink) and they like to socialise alot and they do not like the fact that when I finish work I want to go home & not stay out with them drinking till all hours. 2 out of the 3 christmas's I have worked here everyone in the company received a bonus apart from me. I didnt complain or say anything because I felt it just wasnt worth the hassle but I felt very victimised/left out.
He also hardly says a word to me which is fine but he isnt like this with anyone else.
Then last month I had 1 day off sick (apart from my maternity leave I have only had 3/4 days off in 3 years) so it isnt like it is a regular thing and I have always been paid in the past. However this time he did not pay me. It says in my contract that we get paid for 7 days sickness per year so is he allowed to just choose to not pay me?

Im only on a low wage and work 27.5 hours a week so any money that is taken from my wage is noticed and I just wanted to know if anyone knew where I stood about this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

:)

Does it say that the sick pay is discretionary?

Forget all the other stuff and ask why you did not get contractual sick pay.

No it doesnt say anything about that.

I just basically wanted to know if they could change their mind about what my contract said.
I have thought about just forgetting it in the current climate & lack of jobs incase it causes any trouble for me but at the same time I dont see why I should be treated differently.

    Thanks again

ok so you should ask 'any reason why my sick day wasn't paid'?
