Went to visit my parents today and had a lovely day, mum bought me lunch and dinner and some bits for the cat :j Me and OH had decided to have a movie night when I got home, so I stopped off at Tesco to get some popcorn and ended up with some reduced bits because I have no self control :o

I spent £1.99 on popcorn  because I really wanted the microwavable stuff.

    Then I got:
4 pack of big sausage rolls - 12p reduced from £2.40
4 pack of mini corn on the cobs - 20p reduced from £2
4 pack of organic oranges - 22p reduced from £2.20
    2 x egg mayonnaise sandwiches - 9p each reduced from 85p each
Pesto dip (I use as pasta sauce, enough for 2 meals) - 14p reduced from £1.35
Brie and grape sandwich - 14p reduced from £2.80
Mini chocolate shot glass pudding with spoon - 10p reduced from £1

So, £1.10 for £13.45 worth of food  :T

Overall, adding £3.09 to my total, bringing me to £38.80.

I'm hoping next week we'll just need fresh bits like milk, bread and fruit and then the only other cupboard bits I can think of that we need are gravy, soup and toilet paper, so hopefully a low spend.

Sheeppappar I sometimes think I'm in a bit of a rut with samey meals, would like more variety and more veggie meals and fewer potatoes, but I'm working so hard at work, working hard outside of work to raise money and at home etc, I stop myself thinking that and prefer to reflect on the fact that simple home cooked food with decent ingredients is still better than a load of processed gloop, am trying to be kind to myself, also these simple meals are family favourites. Perhaps I should plan something more exciting for the weekends.

Managed an NSD today, been doing some work for a well known slimming organisation, makes me laugh, what with me being such a shining ad for them (not at all! :))

Lushlifesaver loving the sound of a chilli fest, my daughter announced the other week she no longer likes it so I'm sulking about that.

Have a great weekend all, another Sunday for me stood in a field selling my worldly goods to people who have practised a poker face to perfection xx

I wouldnt worry about serving up simple meals if they are family favourites and you enjoy eating them then thats the main thing.

Hope your fundraising is going well xxx

Hi everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the fab sunshire :) it's about time!Great to see everyone is doing fab so far this month. This week so far I've stuck to my budget ( will update my siggie in a mo) however I really, really need to do a menu plan and eat from the freezers this week.
The issue I've got is DH and I have started SW and he is a red day fanatic, the good news is that he has started visiting Mr T's after class and is buying his own meat etc, £50.00 PW, maddness!! anyhoo for me though I'm doing whatever takes my fancy but really need to menu plan so I'm not eating beans for lunch, eggs for breakfast day in day out.
I'm off to google some yummy and frugal SW recipes :) catch up with you all later.

    Enjoy the sun.

    Morning all,

£55.61 spent at Mr L,s this morning, but that did include £16 on pimms and gin :o so £40 on food etc the booze will last the rest of the month and the sun is out so a little apperatiff is required later :D

Very rude man behind me in the que, the till had a glitch, and the cashier was having problems, only took a few minutes to sort it, but rude man was tutting and huffing very loudly, as I paid he said 'and about bl@@dy time' :eek:i smiled at him and told him that if I wanted his opinion, I would give it to him! Then left, thanking the cashier and wishing her a pleasant day - it wasn,t her fault, or mine....

Anyhoo, off to peg more washing out.

Have a fab day all x

Thanks Meg, doing 3rd car boot tomorrow to add to total, selling books, eBaying like crazy, need to write article for Birmingham Post and ask for sponsorship -- that's my least favourite bit!

On the shopping front I think things are going to be very tight to come in on or under budget, going to keep going the best I can and see where that takes me, I can see that as my daughters are now in on a Friday for their tea this is making a difference, previously they'd been at a friend's.
