low-cost initiative for first time buyers, scotland, help

not sure if on right board
hi was wondering if anyone had any experience of the above, we live in a town covered by Dumfries and Galloway council, we can afford a mortgage of around £72000 and already have about £3000 saved up,however in our area there is not much for sale at this price.
we are currently renting privately
we would be looking at buying from the open market
my partner works 39 hours and myself 30, but its little over minimum wage so really could do with a little extra help,
we have a son and daughter so ideally need a 3 bedroom property
any advice or help would be great
let he without sin cast the first stone
