Curry's Whatever Happens

Hi,
Does anyone know whether Currys' Whatever Happens covers accidents such as spillage? I just slipped in the bathroom and dropped my laptop in the bath! :-(

Thank You

It's called Whatever Happens...so it had better. ;) According to their blurb, it does.
    Let us know.

Erm...what were you doing in the bathroom with a laptop??

I don't think it would cover that, it covers mishaps but not neglect. IMO taking a laptop into a bathroom while the bath has water in is more neglect than mishap.

It's accidental unless they deliberately did it, though one is a little puzzled as to why you'd have a laptop next to a bath, but that said I read my ipad in the bath, but I have accidental damage protection for that reason :D

For all we know their cat tiddles was having it's weekly bath, with the door open enjoying the bubbles. bitemarx was passing by the open door carrying the laptop from the Dining room, into the Bedroom to enjoy a nice soppy movie along with the freshly made popcorn. Tiddles suddenly gets frightened and shoots out the bath, thus tripping bitemarx right as they passed the bathroom door, which happens to open opposite to the bath. Due to the nature of the property there is only a foot space between open door and bath, thus the laptop took to it's own watery suicide. and on :D

Not much different from the many phones through the washing machine or down the bog mid flush (o.O)

I had a small hi-fi system from Currys a few years ago complete with whatever their warranty was called then.

Orange juice was spilled all over it one day and it was replaced with no questions asked (or at least I was given vouchers for its value). The hifi was around three years old at that point

Dropping a laptop in the bath isn't exactly "spillage", is it?

I have to call them tomorrow.
I hope they cover it. I've paid £7.99 every month for the last 2 years, but some people have told me that spills aren't covered.

    :-(

Just to explain: I usually use my ipad while takin a (dump) but my son was using it at that time and I had to resort to the laptop to keep a watch on an ebay item that was ending soon. The mrs had run a bath, and unfortunately, i slipped on some water on the bathroom floor.

    Too much information...
Why not just refer to the T&C's of your cover, which are clearly displayed on the Currys website? While 'mishaps' are covered, the following exclusion probably applies in this case:
'The cost of repairing or replacing a product which fails because anyone neglects, abuses or misuses the product'.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

.....and "they" wonder why their insurance is so high :( More money than sense. To stupidly take electronic equipment into the bathroom and then have the audacity to ask if insurance or T&Cs covers the mishap is more mental than the actual mishap :D Next you'll be telling us you purposely did it to get the £250 off You've Been Framed :rotfl: .....not that I'm giving you ideas mind :D
