Hi folks,
What can you find in our 'Back of the Sofa Challenge'? Check for cash lurking in your sofa, but don't forget old coats, bags and purses, then car seats, trouser pockets and more.
We'd love to know what you find (whether it's cash or something else) and what you do with the money, especially if you've profited selling hidden discoveries.

Happy rummaging!

I bought a car 2 years ago and when I was cleaning the interior I found over £7.00 in cash.
I also pick up any money I see on the pavement even if it is only 1p, I have a jar which is half full of 1p 2p 5p 10p and even a couple of £1 coins, and I give it to a charity once a year!0 -
I bought a handbag in a charity shop for £3. When I got home and was transferring my things into it I found an inside zip pocket with a slim wallet in it. What joy there appeared to be £30 in it, £20 one side and £10 on the other. It turned out there was £100 in it. Checked with the charity shop and they were unable to trace where it had come from. So I put £50 in my sponsor money for a local charity, £20 was used as a reward for finding my daughter's mobile phone (brand new and it had slipped out of her pocket). So £30 was mine for a treat.
I also pick up coins when I see them and put them in a money box. My hairdresser's mum used to do this and so did her friend and at Christmas they used to both go out for a meal with the money.
I hear about people who throw small change in the bin! If you don't like it, put it in a charity box for goodness sake, every little helps.0 -
I was clearing out a chest of drawers recently and found $70. The exchange rate now is better when I bought the dollars, so I'm doubly quids in!0

My mum and I were walking along a back lane on the way to the shops on Saturday and found a stash of copper coins (mainly 1ps) on the road. Looked like they'd been thrown there. Anyway apart from a few foreign coins there was £3.62 in total. I am a voluntary fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Society so that's where it will be donated. Other people must've walked past them and not thought it worth their while to pick up.0

Well my windfall wasn't huge, but I just found £25 in cash in an old wallet along with £3 in £1 M&S vouchers :dI am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

We cleaned our cars inside and out at weekend and I found £2.30 under the drivers seat. Nice surprise and definitely made cleaning the cars more worth while :-)0

Before you take your Christmas and birthday cards to the recycling bank, first check what's inside the card. I found a voucher stuck inside a old birthday card from my mother in law in a bag of cards almost 5 years old!0

I don't know if this falls into the right category but I bought five plates at a boot fair for maybe a pound - got home - decided they were prettier than I had thought and looked online to see if I could collect the set. I discovered the going price for each plate is 40.00 ... not a bad return!0

I am an upholsterer, but all we ever find is mouldy crisps and biscuit crumbs; will you folks have some decorum and use a dining table!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
