  • It's not OTT to shout - it's the law!!!

Well done - I know exactly how you feel because I also reached the holy grail this week and also at 47!!

I will be doing much the same as you - time to start saving some money for early retirement/part time BUT with the added bonus of being able to have some treats along the way.

    CONGRATULATIONS - ENJOY THE FEELING

Enjoy the freedom, whatever form that takes for you both!

  • I have been thinking the same for a while, 7K to go BTW and I'm 47 too must be the magic age :)
Nothing to see here, move along.
  • Very well done! It is worth sticking at it, isn't it. I had to wait until I was 52!

That's brilliant - now get yourself over to the stickied thread and they may give you a badge :D
  • Well done and please shout it out. I have a few years still to go on this journey and it's great to hear from those who have achieved mortgage freedom and how good it feels to finally get there. It's a real incentive to keep going.
  • Congratulations Jenster, another inspiring story. I just wondered how you paid yours off early? what are your best tips?

We have 3 teenagers and just don't seem to have any spare money to OP. We are both 40 and I'd love to have it paid before we're 50. How much was yours and how long did it take to pay off?

    Many thanks :)
