Help having serious collywobbles!

After waiting since Feb (due to long delays at Brighton) for my appointment in June, suddenly my BR date is only 3 weeks away!

Having huge mixture of emotions including abject terror as to what lies ahead, is it the right thing to do even when all the agencies that i have spoken to have said it is the best way forward and numerous other doubts.

Seem to change my mind every five minutes!

Creditors have left me alone apart from the odd silly letter and the normal phone calls but not as bad as i thought when I first booked the appt way back when.

My mum will be coming with me for support on the day - 21st June eek!

Then just the OR to look forward to - probably get a BRO!

OMG somebody stop the paranoia! :rotfl:

Sorry about rambling post - hopefully brain will calm down soon!

Take care all

Jules x

It's ok, we've all felt the same way. Just remember the utter relief that will come when your day has been and gone will make this worrying stage a distant memory.

Don't get paranoid, every case is different and there is no point freting about what might never happen!

i'd agree with bakey, i'd been the same my head seemed all over the place before I'd decided to declare BR...on the day the feelings dissapeared after i'd gone from the court & the OR meeting afterwards went well, i've always worried about things happening that are around the corner but beleive me bankrupcy was the best thing I ever did..for myself & my poor health!

there are some good people on here that have been through exactly what your feeling (dont let the odd post put you off some people are idiots and judgemental regarding bankrupts..funny thing is people always seem quick to judge before they know your circumstances)...keep in touch & remember if you have any questions give us a shout!!

BR is a big decision JJ and what you're feeling is normal, there's alot to think about. You've got your mum for support and that's a big plus, but people on here will offer help and support if you need it. :)

    Thanks guys,

    I know you are right.

I have my really calm time - normally when I am playing with my little boy - and then my demon filled moments when I conjure all sorts of things that could happen!

Must be reading my mind philnicandamy - did freak me out a bit today reading all the negative stuff on the forum today - a phrase which I think is very appropriate for these people is 'dont judge me until you have walked a mile in my shoes'

So i think i will spend more quality time with my little lad - cant believe he will be four on Thursday - and concentrate on our new debt free future together.

Thanks again for all your kind thoughts and support!

I must admit this bad posting is putting people like you who need help off & people are running a mile! ignore it usually people who start these arguments have not seen the implications of bankrupcy & are probably not bankrupt themselves..everyone seems an expert and seem to think we "evil" bankrupts have only done this to take the easy way out...totally untrue, we all have our stories I was exactly the same as you only the fact I became unwell after 2 car accidents & lost my job in the NHS I struggles to get by paying bills & eventually bankrupcy was the only option....enjoy the time you have with the little lad you'll find after BR everything is a whole lot better the emotions you go through are a little like a rollercoaster, the main thing now is I enjoy better sleep & no more phonecalls!! it'll come to you & be worth it you see!

  • it is so easy for us all to say don't worry ...but you will..... and it is the fear of not knowing what is to come that is the worst part but .....HONESTLY i can say hand on heart going BR was the best thing for me to do , it isn't an easy decision but once made the relief of walking out of the court knowing there will be no more nasty letters or phone calls was well worth it .
I can also honestly say that without the help , humour and support of EVERYONE on here I could not have gone through with it , I think I would have backed out and spent another 15 years in debt and being miserable ...and getting deeper i debt . This week I am in credit in the bank with the money waiting for the bills to come in ...never been known before ..and it is a GREAT feeling ..so keep reading all the threads , ask lots of questions and ignor the silly people on here that have no idea of the things we have all or are going through !!! Good luck .xx

    Thanks desperate mum and phil

I think this weekend it has finally hit me that the end to the nightmare is in sight!

Your kind thoughts and words have really boosted me, and knowing that you guys are out there to talk to has really helped.

Think I might have an early night tonight, little one is tucked up in bed, so I think comforting bar of chocolate and a glass of wine with my wonderful mum are in order and then a good nights sleep.

Thanks again for your help tonight :A

    Nite Nite everyone!
