Storing Wedding Dress

Options
I know it's been asked before - but any married ladies got any tips?!

It's been cleaned but I'm really struggling to find the cash for a proper dress storage box - are there any other cheaper/easier options?

Thanks all :)

I asked the ladies at the wedding dress shop we used. They were happy to supply us with a spare box. Then I got some acid free tissue paper, and packed it into the box and sealed it with masking tape.

I dont know if you should seal the box, but I have, dont want moths to get at it.
PS its my Daughters dress. x

I work in a florist and we've had brides come in and ask for empty flowers boxes to store their dresses in - we usually just give them back to the wholesaler or recycle them anyway. I'm sure if you asked them your local florist would be happy to offload a box or two.

Some good tips thank you - sounds like the acid free tissue is the main point!

I didn't even get mine cleaned in the end. It does have a couple of marks on the train but other than that it is pretty clean. It felt weird not to, but I know it will never be worn again so it seemed a waste of money.

I currently have it in a plastic storage box in the loft but I think this probably is not a good idea so I need to rethink what to do with it really!
