Wrongly assigned mobile phone contract - won't cancel it

How long was your original contract for?
If you were expecting to have extended the original contract for an additional 6 months, why have you stopped paying?
Your argument is around what happens after the original contract end date + 6 months....not what is happening now!
I don't quite understand this?
The original contract was the bog standard 18 months but as both contracts are/were both linked to the same account and bills paid collectively not paying one meant I couldn't pay for the other...
I'll try and get what I can from Orange but the customer service is pretty unhelpful and their email service has been down for months now
As implied it's more of a moral issue here and not being extorted and bullied for something that is their staffs fault so we'll see what happens.. if anyone has any good links regarding debt collectors and rights etc. that would be appreciated :j
Surely withholding requested evidence is almost as much evidence as having the call logs and is against the freedom of information act?0 -

You can however, make a Subject Access Request under Data Protection legislation.0 -
This is so easy to sort out, isn't it? Just ask for a recording of the call from December. Then you can prove your phone contract was missold. Job done."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

So...
You took out the contract mid 2012 for 18 months, upgraded by adding 6 months to the contract length... so you are in contract until mid 2014....
Is this correct?
Note, Orange do report to credit reference agencies.0 -
I disagree.
You seem to have no proof of that 'upgrade' phone call content.
Also I take exception to your abusive descriptions of the people who you have spoken to at Orange.
It is for Orange to prove the content of the 'upgrade' phone call because they are the ones benefitting from their interpretation. Given that it is for Orange to prove, I think it is quite reasonable to take OP at face value. The situation of contracts being extended without the customer's explicit agreement seems to be quite a common theme these days and I don't doubt it goes on.
I think OP is being treated quite harshly here - taking his side at face value, I don't think that it is totally unreasonably abusive to describe Orange staff involved as monkeys. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -

I would go with the Subject access request (which should cost 10 pounds). This should then hopefully help your complaint with Orange. If Orange fail to settle the complaint then you can go tothe ombudsman I believe (OFCOM?).
Whilst I understand you are annpnoyed with Orange I suggest you don't use the same language to them/with the ombudsman that you have used on here.
I'm not sure whether paying for the first 6 months would imply you'd accepted the contract or whether you've actually done more damage by refusing to pay. Hopefully someone who knows more about these things will comment further.
Best of Luck getting your complaint sorted.

Did you miss 'the a-hole on the phone' comment?
I am not saying 2 wrongs make a right. I am saying that perhaps a sense of proportion is called for.You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
are you absolutely certain it was orange who called? Did they confirm the new contract was created by one of their agents or was it a 3rd party dealer
You normally receive a welcome pack from orange, did that arrive?Yes Your Dukeiness0 -
Well, I'm more or less with the OP here.

Monkey means what? It was clearly used as an abusive term by the OP.0
