Acuvue Oasys are a good alternative

Comments

  • I wear Acuvue Oasys too. The optician prescribed them as I suffer with dry eyes & Blepharitis.

Before these lenses I used to wear dailies. However, the optician thought that they weren't letting enough oxygen to my eyes.

I have to say, the optician recommended the Oasys ones & never tried to palm me off with other brands.

Not sure everything in your post is correct - CF. Silicone hydrogels are less prone to drying out, but they can have poorer wetting (tearflow) properties, which would explain your experiences.

As for why some products are recommended over others, it may be financial - multiples often fit what they get the best terms on, but more often than not, practitioners will fit what works best in their experience.

It's a bit unfair to tar us all with the same brush because of your limited experience and the hear say of an Ophthalmologist who would rarely fit lenses themselve's and would be unfamiliar with the latest products and their clinical properties.

BTW, Acuvue Oasys are also Silicone Hydrogel lenses.
Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.
