Certainly enough to go at given the variables, although not sure where in Essex you may get what you need at £140k. You can possibly go a bit higher as suggested, although not a huge amount.I am a Mortgage Broker

im 31, partner is 42.
i was hoping for a 30 year plan, but dont think will get one due to partners age?
not sure of repayment budget as that was my question - do i need to see a adviser?
i am looking at £550-£600 i guess as the mortgage payments plus other bills on top-taking it to about £700 ish per month?

For a three bed house you would be looking around those sort of prices for council tax alone.
It might be an idea to have a look through some peoples SOA's in the Deb Free Wannabe area and see what people are paying out for council tax, phone line, TV licence, water, gas, electricity etc.
Everyones is different of course but it might give you an indicationDEBT FREE AT LAST!
