JSA to self employed

I am thinking of becoming self employed as I may have the chance of UPTO 12 - 18 hours a week, however I was wondering if I would be able to claim any benefits still, as even if I got 18 hours my earnings would only be slightly higher than JSA, however once self employed I think I could get additional work.
At the moment I am claiming Contribution based JSA and council tax benefit

If you are working under 16 hours a week you can still claim JSA. If you go over that then you should still be able to claim council tax benefit under low income eligibility.0

I have read that a scheme was in place where I could get £50 a week for 16 weeks, is that still running or has it finished now?0

If you are after the extra funding for 26 weeks, i would suggest searching on Google for something called "New Enterprise Allowance" and if your interested speak to your Jobcentre advisor. A Very good scheme to get you up and running if you want to start your own business
