    no it is not

    OK, to clarify, if your advisor puts it on your agreement then you have to use it (at least register on it and if they say check it x times a week then check it x times a week). And everyone I have spoken to has had their advisor put it on their agreement and it is being pushed on people who if they disagree could theoretically have JSA affected. Unless you have no internet in which case your advisor will make other arrangements to help your job search.

    Unless this has changed? In which case apologies for the duff info.

    Thank you - how do I use private mode please?

    What browser/version do you use?

    No one has told me I have to register or use it or anything and I have been signing for ages. There is nothing in my agreement either that says that so I guess I am different to the people you have spoken to.

    How odd! I set to "block all cookies" again just to remind myself what it does and it makes me log in constantly! :/

    Anyway, I have Internet Explorer 9...

    For IE8, it's Tools -> InPrivate Browsing

    Here's info-

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-vista/what-is-inprivate-browsing

    Basically (amongst other features) cookies are allowed for the session you are in (ie so the website works) but are cleared when you exit inprivate mode.

    Depends on if you find this solution acceptable or not.
