Where do you buy bicarbonate of soda?

The only place I can find it is in supermarkets in the baking aisle in tiny overpriced containers!

I have looked in Wilkinson's and other houseware stores (including independents) but have not been able to find it yet.

Any ideas?

PD, I'm looking for something a bit bigger than the small pots they sell in Tesco, so I can use it for household cleaning. Perhaps a couple of kilograms as opposed to a couple of hundred grams?

I think you can buy it in bulk from Chinese supermarkets if that's any use. Hth

You can order it from Wilko's online: http://www.wilko.com/surface-cleaners/clear-and-natural-bicarbonate-soda-500g/invt/0264235?VBMST=bicarbonate. Also you can order it from Chemists too apparently. I just looked on Ebay as well and the price isn't too bad. Hope that helps!

Try searching online for shops catering to soap makers - it is a principle ingredient in bath bombs and bath fizzers so is sold in large quantities. I can't give you a specific website as the last place I bought it from seems to have gone out of business sadly...

I got a box of Arm & Hammer in Poundworld. It might be called baking soda on the box, as it's a brand I'm familiar with from North America. It's 454g, which is massive compared to the little vials they sell in supermarkets. If only I could find baking powder as cheap..

I get it on e-bay, if you search for different sellers you can generally get a good price
