Olbas Oil

Options
Hello
I get pretty bad hayfever and find I get bad congestion headaches (on medication from Dr) but I find that having a tissue with oblas oil on beside my bed helps me.
However I'm using it loads so finding that I need a new bottle ever 2-3 weeks
Does anyone know of a similar product but cheaper?!
Thanks in advance

I wonder how long it would last if you found a safe way of leaving the bottle open beside your bed at night, and if it would work as well as tipping it out?

Covonia drops (almost identical to Olbas Oil) which is £1 at Poundland.

you could also use otrivine which is not much more than £1 from wilkinsons.

I find this is better than olbas oil as it clears all the mouth/nose passages. I personally find olbas oil only clears my nose temporarily.

you could try "robinson healthcare easy breathers tissues"

Olbas oil has never really worked for me so my nana gave me these and i could not live without them.
Sounds abit crazy but i get abit claustrophic if i can't breathe through my nose and these work instantly

i've never found them in tesco or anything only seen them in a pound type store, so i presume they were around the £1 mark but they are also veryyyy strong which mean you might not need to use alot.

most times i don't even need to take a tissue out i can just open the lid and it works.

i actually gave my friend one yesterday becuase shes really congested and now shes on the hunt for them. definetly worth a try
  • Hi
Thanks I was in wilkinsons today and they only had a nasal spray will try and get to pound land this week
I find the tissues don't work as its for when I'm sleeping during the night I get really congested and have had a congestion headache for few days now - was the same last yr and I've got nasal sprays to take which usually take the edge away but trying not to rely on them so suffering the pounding head this weekend!
    Thanks :)

Olbas inhaler stick! (Vicks do one too but I don't rate it).

It looks like a little plastic tampon, you take the top off, place it in one nostril while closing other and inhale as deeply as you can. Then move to other nostril.

I find it really effective for allergies, colds and even mental alertness. And it lasts for ages - very MSE.
