First time mortgage for contractors

I've been thinking of getting mortgage, it would be my first. I'm contractor and my partner is in full time job.
With my past experience I can tell that Banks don't like contractors.
Do I stand a chance with mortgage?

If you have contracting for some time continuously it should not be too difficult. Use a broker though.I am a Mortgage Broker
