If you have just got your credit file and enterered your new address expect your creditors or debt collectors might well start chasing at the new address. Which could increase the risk of CCJs.
Is that based on what your credit file shows? you might find when they contact you they are chasing for higher sums that the defaulted amounts shown on file.
I only ever use my address that's debts are registered to, I am also on the electoral roll there, they harassed the hell out of me which is why I guess I sort of ran away when I went to UNI, but yeah my contract phone and statements still goes there and my mom sends them on to me! I did open some mail and it was generally aggressive but asking for reduced payments of around 20% off the defaulted amount. Thanks0 -
Is that mother's address then? If you have just confirmed that address (albeit that you do not actually live there) then they may start chasing for you there again.
If you do decide to start paying and you find they are hassling you (not just chasing you) there are some good templates you can send to them to stop the harrasment.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
They never stopped really chasing me at that address, just my mom has been great and compiled a list of postcodes on the reverse of mail so she knows which ones to shred! I do go there quite often, I just hate the feeling of horrible letters that are easily identifiable as DCAs dropping ony door matt.. Also my partner does not know about it and I don't really want her to find out, she keeps on about getting a joint bank account and I have to keep making up excuses to avoid it as I don't want my credit being associated with her. I think I am going to save a lump sum now and in the event of court action il pay them off! If not il just pile the lump into a deposit for a mortgage
?
Sorry about my formatting I'm using my iPhone!0 -
I'd keep quiet about it, things seem to be going ok, and another couple years your credit file will look clean0
