Hey! dont shoot the messenger.
Disclosure docs are all well and good as long as they are given to the client.
According to Which, 37% of brokers they tried didnt provide them.
All I am saying is dont be fooled into thinking that if you dont provide this information you are merely screwing with your compliance man. You are breaking the law.
I am sure this does not apply to all you learned people on here but a warning just in case.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -

I am astonished that an IFA could charge a fee and then pocket commission on top.
In fact, I would question if it should be allowed. Paying a fee should at least guarantee that advice is not clouded by what commision the product pays.
If the advisor is getting commision as well, how can this be the case ?US housing: it's not a bubble

It's quite easy.
Mortgage commission of 0.3% doesnt go very far in some parts of the country. In areas where the typical mortgage is under £100k, then a fee is needed to make mortgage business viable. In fact, I would question if it should be allowed. Paying a fee should at least guarantee that advice is not clouded by what commision the product pays.
It is allowed.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
