How was the festival? I hope you had great fun.

There seems to be an awful lot of ironing going on Crumpets, you've got me scared that school uniforms should be ironed!

Well we're back from our festival weekend away, we had a brilliant time but it was very spendy to say the least! I think the total spent came in at just under £300  it was less than I'd budgeted for but more than I hoped to spend. I don't begrudge it though because we all had a brilliant time and much food and drink was had which was £££ one thing that I did put my foot down on spending was £20 on a tail for dd2. She was absolutely deperate for one but I know it will only end up in the dressing up box so I've promised I'll make her one, I've found a tutorial and it looks fairly simple so hopefully she'll be happy with that :money:

It's the last week of the holidays now, it's gone so fast! We have a few days out planned including a trip to a safari park, we were lucky enough to win free entry tickets in a school auction so that should be a cheap day out if we take a picnic :T I also need to get a few stationary bits and pieces for dd1. I'm hoping for a cheap week over all though.

Even though I haven't left the house today I've still managed to be quite spendy :o some Christmas presents for Ds from amazon (I look on the Christmas bargain thread on mumsnet daily to look for bargains) and a few clothes for me from DP in their bank holiday sale, I got jeggings and jumper and a cape for the £38 which I thought was quite bargainous :T

Another new month tomorrow and judging by the weather today autumn won't be far away. We're definitely not going to put the heating on until October at the earliest so I hope all this rain goes away. The mortgage goes out tomorrow and I'm going to make a one off OP of the left over weekend spends. It should probably go towards something else but hey I'm a MFW after all :rotfl:

I have well and truly run out of steam now, we had our final NT day out of the holidays and it just seemed like so much effort! At least it was a LSD with only £1.85 spent on a drink for dd1 as I left hers at home

I have also just spent £19 on Christmas presents, I brought a £30 voucher for Very from Wowcher for £15 and got dd1 a really cool Captain America light which will be perfect for her newly decorated bedroom :T I had to add a pack of pants in for Ds to take it over the £30 spend but those will go in his stocking so I would have brought them anyway :)

We were planning a trip to the safari park tomorrow but I literally have no energy to face another day out so it is postponed until half term. Instead I'm going to take the little ones to have their hair cut and I will probably treat them to an ice cream afterwards. The children are also really tired so I think we all need some quieter days before school starts next week.

The mortgage has gone out today and we are now well under £104 000 :T I'm going to make my first overpayment for ages in a moment of about £70. This is what was left over from the weekends spends. I've also made £9.00 on eBay today :T I'm going to leave that in the PayPal account though.

    ETA over payment made!

Spendy day yesterday, £16 on much needed hair cuts for dd2 and Ds. I then spent £8 on ice creams in our lovely ice cream parlour. Dd1 was absolutely desperate to get new stationary for school so off we went to home bargains and spent £28 on a mixture of toiletries and stationary  hopefully she has everything she needs now though and it's a good job as she had to go back to school today! I had no idea, I thought she was off until monday:o

Luckily I managed to get two loads of washing dried on the line yesterday as it's a really grey and rainy day again today :( we also did a bit of gardening as everything has gone wild. I need to spend a bit of money on the garden, get some spring bulbs and a few shrubs etc its never ending at the moment. Our local horticultural college usually has a sale on at this time of year so I'm hoping to get a few bargains there :money:

Grocery shopping today, it should get slightly cheaper now the kids are going back and I don't need to provide so many lunches. I hope so any way. :p

Well it has been a very busy and spendy few days since I last posted, I started my new course on Saturday and had to pay the course fees of £1150  I really enjoyed my first day though and cant wait to get stuck in. I just need to make sure I do some work each week rather than leaving it to the last minute which is my usual form :o

Last night we went to watch the Foo Fighters in Milton Keynes :D:T we got some money off our friends for their tickets and towards petrol. We took food with us but we still spent £10 on parking and £15 on drinks, £5 for a small bottle of beer or cider :eek: still £25 is not bad for a night out for the two of us :)

Everyone has gone back to school today at long last :T so its back to paying for school dinners and after school clubs, I need to pay £31 for dd2s ballet and £42 for my Pilates class today.

I've got the children's bedding on the line today and that is about all I'm doing as I'm so tired! I'm really looking forward to getting back to normal now and hopefully get back to being more frugal. I feel like money has been slipping through my fingers lately.

Ohhhh - I know several friends who went to see the Foo Fighters this weekend - they all had a fab time, I believe! :D:D

I know what you mean about money slipping through your fingers - we are weirdly skint this month, even though we're now MF! Time for me to rein it back in, I feel! :)

It was amazing! I can't imagine ever being MF! I hope you're enjoying yourself with your extra money! :T

Well it's been a busy week but so much less stressful now everything is back to normal! I've really enjoyed my child free time but I have missed the children(a tiny bit :p)

The weather has improved dramatically so I'm all up to date with my washing and I went on a lovely bike ride yesterday. It looks as if dh is going to do a car boot on Sunday morning :T so I hope it holds. Most of the stuff is already in the van but I know there is more in the loft and garage. Once it has left the house it is NOT coming back in :D I have also sorted out some jumpers and blankets to donate to the refugee crisis, it's so sad :(

This morning Ds has had his first session at forest school, I hope he's enjoying it :) I have started on my course homework  I have loads more to do but at least I've started it :A I'm going to try and keep Friday mornings free for working. I've also made a cake for the school teas and cakes so it should be a LSD today. Dd1 is having her hair trimmed this afternoon so just that and some tea and cake to pay for today :p

The past few nights I have put ds to bed without a nappy and it hasn't been very successful so I don't know weather to continue and persevere or just give up. He's very reluctant to have a nappy back on now though so I might have to buy pull ups or something in an attempt to persuade him they are for big boys  it would be so lovely not to have to buy nappies anymore but if he needs them, he needs them :o

I think I've done much better with my spending this week :T dh and I still need to go through our August spending, but not today, tonight will be Friday night film night and a couple of glasses of wine :T

    Lunch time now!

DS2 was in PJ pants at night until he was 7 - we tried all the tricks that the professionals suggest but it wasn't to be - and then suddenly he just 'got it'. I think a pair of PJ pants a night is far more MSE than washing bed linen most days - and certainly less exhausting for everyone concerned! :)

We have actually had some success since I last posted! Ds has had two dry nights on the trot so I'm hopeful he's cracked it :T

Dh has done a car boot sale today, we had so much rubbish to get rid of, it's ridiculous the amount of stuff we hang on to  he managed to sell a decent amount of stuff, although quite a lot has come home. He made about £90 but unfortunately as he was leaving he ran over someones stuff and had to pay them £10 to cover the costs :rotfl: so we have about £80 to put towards something now, which is better than a lot of clutter hanging around :) I'm not sure dh thought it was worth getting up at 5:30am for though :o

I've spent the day at home getting on with jobs, I've mowed the grass and done the washing. It's struggling to dry now, even though it's been a lovely day. It will soon be time to get the clothes horse out :( I've also been working on a craft project for dd1s bedroom and I have finally finished it, it's taken a lot of hours but it looks great and she loves it :T I will start stripping the wallpaper in her room tomorrow ready for painting.?..I wonder if I have any nectar points to put towards the paint?
