The "BestOf" franchise

Does anyone have any experience of the "best of <insert town of choice>" franchise ?
I was tempted to enquire about buying a franchise but on closer inspection something smelled a little off.
For example, their reviews on local businesses smacks to be of being fake.
Solicitors, plumbers, will writing services etc ALL with a local emphasis have hundreds of reviews. One local will writing service had over 435 five star reviews !!
Even Amazon don't get that many reviews for some of their top selling products so why would so many people feel compelled to write a review on a will writing service on a rather obscure website such as "bestof" ?
And of course, ALL the reviews happen to be 5 star reviews-no one has submitted anything less than a 5 star.

Perhaps the will writing company are offering people a small discount for a positive review or something?
Maybe check out a few of the "best of" things and see if it is the same throughout the towns.0 -
Collegues, family and friends reviewing perhaps? I know a lot of directories encourage their listers to do this to improve their ratings.
