Hello lovely DFWers. I hope your weekend is going well!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:

Today I will:

- do a day's teaching - earning cash not spending it!
- do a matched bet
- make a meal plan for the week based on freezer and cupboards
- not increase my debt in any way
- be positive

Have a good day everyone xx

    Today I will
    1. Do a Meal Plan
    2. Check my online banking
    3. Do some more Bodybars listings on ebay
    4. List some of my own stuff on ebay
    5. Order the cats food online rather than through the vet ( saves a teeny bit )
    6. Reduce my DVD package with Lovefilm to save on that

today we were going to have a car boot but it was called off cause of the weather. We were also supposed to be going to a bbq this afternoon but I think that shares the same fate as the car boot.
May try listing some of the car boot things on ebay and if they don't sell then send them to the car boot next week.
So i'm prob going to stay in all day so hopefully a nsd

    Today I have:

checked my online bank accounts and moved some cash into savings until it is needed

entered the comps and done the click throughs on Pigsback (I won one of their comps a couple of weeks ago :j )

this afternoon I will plant some bedding plants given to me by my dad (he grows them from seed) using compost from our own compost bins (provided free by the council which I requested following a link on the Freebies forum here) - and the rainfall is free as well :D

Yesterday I called MBNA - I had a new credit card from them which had been transferred from another bank. I thought I would check if there was a BT offer - told there wasn't so asked them to cancel the card. Was put through to Customer Loyalty dept and to cut a long story short they moved the credit limit onto an existing MBNA card and offered me 0% for 6 months which even with the BT fee is worthwhile. So I was able to do a BT which means that although I still have a large amount of unsecured debt it is all either on low Life of Balance rates or short term 0%. This is making a huge difference as it means that a large proportion of my monthly payments is reducing the debt not just paying interest. Well worth the call.

Have a good DFW bank holiday weekend everyone

Read the papers online. Haven't spent any money yet, but if it gets hot later I know I'll be yearning for a Cornetto or Magnum which will be hard to resist. :o

    Evening all.

    Today I have:

    * Cut up the Post Office credit card I took out (via QuidCo :D) as I have now bought all the gear I need for the 2 weddings/weekend away in June. It's been bloody expensive however I have bought good quality stuff that will see me through a number of 'occasions' and this dress will *not* end up on EBAY like so many I have bought in the past which were cheaper yet, somehow didn't really cut the mustard. Same goes for the matching shoes I bought too.

(The deal was that I took out the credit card and got the cash via QuidCo, buy what I need and then cut the card up and pay it all back within the three months 0% interest period.)

    * Did a meal plan for week and we stuck to shopping list completely.
    * Worked on spreadsheet & checked online banking.
    * Used some free minutes I qualified for to chat to my brother for a while.
    * Got a lift into town & back so no bus fare.
    * Did piggy comps & QuidCo searches.
    * Took some stuff I bought in John Lewis yesterday, back today for refund. :A
