Using Cash Converters

I need money (don't we all) asap, I have a set-top box worth about £300 that's only a couple months old that I'm willing to sell - I'm hoping for around £150 or at least £100.
I've tried on Gumtree with no luck, and eBay is not an option right now, so I'm looking at stores like Cash Converters or CEX - I've never dealt with stores like this so don't know what to expect.
It looks like Cash Converters are likely to take the set-top box but will offer me significantly less than they probably should, I know CEX is better but I'm not sure if they'd take a set-top box. If I have no luck with either it's a long way (and an expensive trip) for nothing.
Anyone any experience dealing with these type of stores?

Most of these websites have the ability to get quotes online for selling your stuff. Why not try that first or email them?
That said, for electronics to get £100 for it I think you're being optimistic0 -
think at best you get 50% of the 2nd hand value (ebay for prices)Ex forum ambassador
