Hi I do a cleaning job 23 hours a week 4 hours a day Monday to Friday and 3 hours saturday morning, I have epilepsy which is controlled and have been told that I am not entitled to a break at all-is there any thing that I can do about this.

Workers can also get advice on rest breaks from the Pay and Work Rights helpline.

I believe your employer is correct. I'm not sure why you mention you epilepsy unless you believe this has an affect on your ability to work?

Even young workers are not entitled to a break if they work those hours.

If you do want a break, what you could do about it is to ask if you could take a break (of whatever length you want) but that you start and/or finish work earlier/later to equal the time. There is no requirement on the employer to agree to your proposal.

For those adults who are expected to work more than 6 hours in a shift, there would be an entitlement to 20 minutes. That time is unpaid.
