Digital photo frame

I am thinking of buying someone a digital photo frame as a present and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations of a make/model they have found good?

Have a look at the following guide. This is a few years old, last updated 03 March 2010, though should still give you a good idea what to look for.

Not seen any good offers lately though.

I have given one of the NIX ones a few times and its been much apreciated. Good price (£60), decent resolution and special trick, it turns on automatically when someone is around (you can set how long it continues) and goes back off to 'standby' if no one is home. Also has remote control.

Saves remembering to switch it on and off all the time or using a timer.

Only 'negative' is doesn't have any built in memory but most people have a smaller old USB stick or SD card kicking around or they only cost a a few quid for a gigabyte or two.

I also like the fact its in 4:3 ratio that gives more screen area for an 8" screen and suits most digital camera pictures better.

If you were looking to spend more they do bigger versions too.

Maybe consider checking the MegaShopBot if you want to find one cheaper, if possible.

You could also try searching HotUKDeals for a USB stick or appropriate SD card if you need either.
