water bills

Hi I have put this on the utilities board but as generally more people view this board, was wondering if any of you good people could help.I live in an old town house divided into flats so I have to pay water rates as the water supply is shared. This works out at £7.19 a week, this is annoying as I know for a fact that if I could get a water meter I could probably half this. Is there anyway I could reduce my water bills? I live by myself and am at work most of the day so I am a low user. Is there anyway I could get a discount for being a low user and single person living in the flat. Seems very unfair I have to pay such high charges when I do not use much water. Thanks in advance :money:

I'm sure there's a single person discount. Are you getting the single person discount on the council tax as well?0

Do you own the flat?
With my local water provider, if you want the flats to be separately metered, you have to pay for the supply to be split at the point where it joins the household supply.
Also there may need to be pipework alterations inside to ensure that each supply is only supplying your taps and not someone elses.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
thx for the reply to my question. Yes getting the council tax discount. Sure there must be a discount for water as well. Will ring Anglian water asap.:rotfl:I'm sure there's a single person discount.
