Thanks Jack8171, you're probably right, people don't need to know and aren't that interested, I might tell my best friend though, so I have some-one to celebrate with.

Sellurgranny, I love your name!! Yes, I now feel quite exited about the whole thing. Talking of sellingurgranny, my Gran left me a dolls house and lots of accessories when she died. I've carted it all around the last 5 house moves we've had, and it's currently out in the carport getting damp. Maybe I should sell it, I never have because I think she thought it would be a family heirloom, but the fact is I don't have the space, my kids aren't interested, too old now and it'll be eons before I have any grandkids (I hope). Maybe I'll just try a few pieces on ebay and see how that feels first!

You can also sell on gumtree or facebook if its something big or too heavy to post. Although on ebay you can offer collection only although that does reduce your market somewhat.

Gumtree/fb is free to advertise so might be worth starting with that. Do some research before you list it anywhere - see what other similar ones are selling for. You dont want it going for a song if its valuable.

Another quick earner are car boot sales - great for decluttering and earning at the same time. Ive been meaning to do one for over a year now and am determined to get one done this summer. My garage is slowly filling with stuff people have given me which I keep thinking will do well on a car boot. I even found a perfectly good swivel desk chair in the back lane outside my house last week - that's gone in the garage too. Gosh i sound like a womble! Lol :D
