We've submitted an application for a mortgage via a broker.
Who normally receives the response from the lender: the broker or the applicant?

Which response? If its AIP broker will get it. Formal offer, my broker was faxed a copy and the next day I received hard copy in the post.0

Formal offer. We had AIP through broker but he did it via lenders website.0

Your broker will get the response, they will update you.
Some lenders offer to update clients direct but we do not encourage this as the info the lenders churn out is frequently incorrect or misleading and not to be taken at face value.

Technically you will receive it, but its likely broker will get a faxed copy beforehand. That's what happened with mine

If you are talking about the formal offer the borrowers, broker and borrowers solicitors all get their own copies.
Please check your copy thoroughly as mistakes cannot be rectified after funds have been drawn down.I am a Mortgage Broker
