Non resident father advice needed

Options
My daughter who is 18 has left school but may go back to study in sept. she is currently working and has also moved out from her mothers last week. I contacted the csa who contacted the mother but the mother has refused to stop the csa stating she is just staying with a friend. Csa advised me I have to speak to child benefit but this process can take months. Is there any quick way to speed up the process and make her stop the csa? My daughter is not even speaking to her.

The only way would be for you to inform Child Benefit office. They will investigate. If you are on speaking terms with your daughter then I am sure she would be happy to confirm to the CB office that she no longer lives with her mum.

Do the CSA always accept the PWCs word as the complete truth.?

It does smack of the 'slightly unfair' that NRPs get threatened with a raft of sanctions if they don't comply with the CSA but there doesn't seem to be any help provided if they have an issue with the claim...

    Or maybe it's just me.??

Nope - they check Government systems to see if Child Benefit is still in payment, and then accept the word of another Govt department as the truth.

Yes - but that does rely on the Govt Dept being provided with the correct information.

But if I'm honest and from what I've read on here - no side (rather than individuals) can hold the moral high ground when it comes to dealing with Govt Depts...:p
