We got one of these in our small office last year, and it's is a good quality unit (quite heavy), and you can buy a caddy that goes on the bottom to hold extra paper! (the bottom fed paper tray is great!) carts aren't bad money and are a doddle to change (you can push 'em in and out a couple of times when the low ink light comes on), never been a moments trouble with an output of around 250 sheets a week, just ordered one myself, it can sit on the shelf for a while at that money.... though no doubt I've bought one now, they'll prolly be 50 quid in a month:rotfl:0

I've heard that this model starts having problems with the paper feed after a while, even some reviews at amazon mention this, thats the only thing thats stopping me from getting this printer, I really like the idea of high capacity carts.
PS spend spend spend, where do you buy your carts from?0 -
The girl in the office orders them, from one of those mail order companies like viking I think (cost not important at work), we haven't had any problems with paper feed, and as mentioned we're doing 250 sheets a week, mainly mono, which is crisp and fast, prior to that we we're using a canon pixma ip4000 again with bottom paper feed, which gave up the chase after around 13 months, I bought an ip4200 based on hammering the 4000 got!, the ip4200 also does cd's, something the K550 doesn't, but the K550 is business orientated, my ip4200 isn't that old and is a nice unit, ordered the K550 as it is a bargain... and bargains are my weakness:rolleyes:0

I've just picked up a used one for £10, no ethernet tho, just USB, still a bargain!
I need to be more careful with this one, i've gone thru 3 inkjets, the heads dry up on me, I think i should print at least once a week.
I have a HP laserjet for my main printing needs, hence the colour inkjet does not get much use.0 -
I think this is a good deal. The consumables are not too pricey and it's a real workhorse:

Don't forget QuidCo for 5% will help offset the delivery.

Now just need to find cheap inks0

I highly recommend this printer - I've had one for about three months , so hope my mini-feedback helps anybody considering ordering it.
I had researched this printer prior to buying and was also worried about the reviews mentioning paper feed problems - so I mentioned it to HP when I ordered, but (touch wood) I've had no paper feed errors and am already on my second set of cartridges - which just shows how much it has been used! It prints quite quietly and does a lovely job, whatever setting you use.
Also, if anybody looks at it and thinks it is far too bulky for them - I thought so as well! So I now run it without the bottom paper tray being attached and it is then almost normal inkjet printer sized - well, fits in the space left by my old Deskjet! I find the top paper tray is plenty big enough for most jobs, so I don't miss it.
So I say grab it while you can, as I really think this is a bargain - I'm still happy even though I paid much, much more!0 -

Bulk tank kit (just keep filling with ink) available on that popular auction site, ideal if you do mass printing:D0
