Fake Tan

  • I used to use St Tropez but now I have converted to Fake Bake - it gives a much more natural colour than St Tropez , lasts longer, and is truly foolproof to apply.

It looks like chocolate sauce when you apply but this is just the colour guide so you don't miss bits. Apply it at night about half an hour before bedtime (preferably using a tanning mitt for a 100% perfect application) then shower off the guide colour in the morning. Ta da! Perfect tan!

I have converted my Mum and loads of my friends to Fake Bake and they all said they are hooked :D

Its usually cheapest on Ebay or on https://www.tanninglotion.co.uk (£15 ish) but is about £21 if you buy from a salon.

More info on https://www.fakebake.co.uk - but don't buy it from there it is cheaper on other sites.

I have been using DECLEOR tanning products for about 15 years now. Have changed to something else occassionally(sp) but always come back to this as nothing compares.. Have used St Tropez and didn't like it/hassle factor.

Love this product, it is about £16 in John Lewis/House of Fraser/beauty salons..

Just apply in the morning after showering..
Rate this along side Juicy Tubes!!!:D

My local FE college trains beaty therapists and they always need people to practise on. They use St Tropez at the moment, £15 to clients ( I'm booked in next week) but they've decided to change to Fake Bake for next year. It's always worth finding out if your local college has a beaty department as you often get freebies - yesterday I was booked for a facial (£7) and got a pedicure, eyebrow wax, eyebrow tint and eyelash perm thrown in free....and I never knew eyelashes could be permed!

Just bought a starter kit of ST Tropez in Boots £10.50 for exfoliator, moisturiser and tan, probably 2 applications in each. I have never used anything like this before and it has worked a treat. Just follow the instructions and I am sure you will be delighted. I was so white and now have a healthy looking glow.

Just a thought....... I bought a bottle of Addict 2 pefume from the Dior counter in Boots Bristol Cribbs this weekend and the assistant put a small 3ml sample of a Dior self tan in the bag too along with a leaflet promoting other self tan products in their range for the summer.

I'm sure if you go to a Dior counter near you and say your getting married and explain what you've already said here you can blag a free sample to try at home. Or if you've really smart get them to put some on your face for free!

Incidently I've tried my free sample and its easy to use and doesn't leave streaks. You get a natural colour, which is good for me being fair. You just apply more if you want a deeper colour.
:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:

Just talking to my younger daughter about fake tans this morning as she's just used Nivea which looks very natural. I said to her she could have used St Tropez as I bought some that I haven't used yet , but she said it ends up a khaki colour  I don't know whether it's anything to do with her having darkish skin anyway although her older sister doesn't like it either and she's very fair.

Nivea is on offer at Boots at the moment

I think everyone has different opinions on these . I am very pale and like the st tropez and clarins do a nice light colour. However the beautican I went to changed to fake bake and it looked awful on me, everyone commented how fake , :D , it looked. So I dont like it now ! I try to get testers or samples. I would also recommend the tan wipes/ towels you get as they are very handy. That said I find you have to be careful when applying to your face, as I can have a reaction to some and some dont last long. Afraid it is trial and error - but the nice lady at dior gave me a whopping big sample today in a pot ( take one along ). So will be trying that next !

My best is the Palmer-Cutler range.

It's won loads of awards incl GMTV - and if you're quite pale like me it really is the most natural looking one.

They do a travel kit which is about £19.00 for half sizes of all four products -

wash, exfoliator, moisturiser and tan - so you can properly prepare your skin before applying the tan.

There are quite a few items on ebay.

Thanks for that I was thinking of trying the palmer range. I like the idea of a spray on tan, so much easier . I heard Lancasters was good but not sure how it is on pale skins. Tryed the Dior sample and far too dark on me. It was a nice texture, gel like, but looks like mud colour when dry !
