Ex partner won't cancel life insurance policy

Hi my ex of 5 years won't agree to cancel our joint life insurance policy with the post office.
I have called the post office and have been told there is nothing they can do as we both have to agree to cancel it, she makes the payments off her bank account so I can't even cancel the direct debit, very frustrating as I'm with a new partner and have a baby on the way.
Is there anything or anyone who could solve this she won't even answer my calls and she has moved is there anything a lawyer could do
Thanks

Well she will get money if anything were to happen to me, as I said I have a child on the way which is my priority0

If you are not paying for that policy, just ignore it - won't affect your child.
Take out your own cover for the benefit of your child.0 -
I thought you are only aloud one policy so you can't claim several times just like insuring a vehicle your only aloud one policy, correct?0

But if you died, you wouldn't be claiming more than once. One party would be claiming on one policy and someone else on the other.
(By the way, it's 'allowed')0 -

nah,different situation
payouts on your death wont be affected by your ex's policy
your policies will payout to whomever you have set out
think of the silver lining if she goes 1st
(I'm assuming she cant change the beneficiaries without your consent)0 -
Actually I'm not sure the insurance is valid any longer, surely the ex has no insurable interest in the OP (assuming they have no children, joint property, etc.). Wouldn't it now be as if she was trying to have a policy on the life of a complete stranger?0

why would it matter?
they both as adults took out a policy together
so it will stand until she decides not to pay or perhaps remembers she is!0
