barclays savings can't transfer in money

I opened a Monthly Savings account with Barclays (my main bank acct is also with them). The account shows up in the account list but I am not able to transfer in money - it's not in the transfer tab list (transfer TO...)
Moreover, it wouldn't let me do a standing order from my banking to the savings account, I get an error message when I try to do it - saying that I should use the transfer option. Am I missing something?

I have this account. When I applied, it gave me the option to choose which account I wanted the standing order set up from, and they did it as part of the account opening process. You cant transfer money into it, as the only payments into it are from the monthly standing order. If they haven't set it up, you will need to call them and get them to do itDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0

Ask Barclays, they have in the past done some odd accounts which dont function in normal ways when it comes to online banking due to how they are set up on their systems.
With the old Flex Account you had to call to transfer money in, set up a standing order to go into the account but could draw down from the account online.0 -
Ok so it's not just me. It's sort of dumb though, the online system won't let me set up a standing order either... very annoying. Thanks!0

Two or three years ago you could transfer cash manually from your current account but now you must use a standing order. Give them a ring and they'll sort it for you, I'm surprised you were able to open it without setting this up0 -
Well, they asked me for the details of the standing order when I applied online. However, I received a letter in the post asking them to call because some details on the application didn't match the details they held on me, which I did. The account was open over the phone in the end. I was asked whether I wanted to set up a standing order, I said no, I will do it online - and that was it.0
