a while ago i saw a thread regarding a letter to the local council about an offer of repayment for council tax arrears, if anyone can recall this or has a copy of the letter i would be sooooooo grateful as i have council tax arrears and they want me to agree to pay them £180 per month to pay this years and the arrears combined which i really can't afford. If anyone has any other advice i'd be really chuffed as this is the only debt that i'm struggling with

hi
Have not got a letter but can make a suggestion.
If you are managing to pay everything else and not sorting the Council Tax, you are going to get into a pickle. Council Tax is a priority debt, so you get into a lot more trouble not paying that than not paying loans and CCs.
Can you go to the stickie on the first page, by Southern Scouser for newbies, and fill in a Statement of Affairs (SOA).
As one OP would suggest, find all the paperwork you can relating to your expenditure, make a cup of tea and get a piece of paper handy, and write down all you normal monthly outgoings, including council tax, utilities and rent/mortgage and secured loans. These are you priority debts.
Then make a separate list of your non-priority debts like unsecured loans and CCs.
Post that up here and people will come along and help you find a way of managing the situation that does not lead to trouble. it amy be a bit quite over the holiday, but someone will come along soon.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

sorry, didn't make myself too clear!! i have spoken to CCCS who advised to contact the council to make a smaller offer, when i contacted the council they would not agree to it and as is often the case, made me feel really small and really guilty. All of my other debts have been dealt with and I am on reduced payment plan with most of them0
