Hi all , what's best ? Do I keep the credit card I have already that's all pay'd off balance at zero ,or cancel it/close it before I apply for a new one ? I have never known the answer to this , if it affects any credit rating and or how much they offer you if you already hold a card or not , many thanks for any advise given

Depends on your current limit and income. But probably not, if you only have the one card.0

And do I ,once I get a new card on 0% then cancel the old one or do I keep it running for a certain amount of time ?0

If you hold one or two (well-kept) Credit Cards, it is usually easier to get a new card. Presuming the limit on your existing card is not astronomically high (in relation to your income), the card would not have a negative impact on the decision about a new card.
Once you've got the new card, you can close the old one (if that is what you want), but carrying two cards is in no way excessive.0 -
Personally, I'd always have a minimum of two, so you have a back up for when one gets cancelled, lost, or declined at a petrol station at 2 in the morning somewhere uncivilised, such as Swansea.0
