JSA job searching while on a course

Hi would like some help.

Im going on a course in just over 2 weeks time and its a residential course in Stoke and im traveling from Sheffield to do it, the course is 2 weeks long.
Im currently receiving JSA and I would like to know if I still have to apply for jobs while im there, the course is intense for the 2 weeks so ill not have much time to look for work.
Im not signing on for another week, so I thought I would ask on here.

Thanks alot

yes, you need to be actively seeking work

although you are allowed UK holidays

Can you make your signing day during the two weeks, and can you continue your job search via email/phone etc during that time, if so no problem

you can look for jobs any time if you have access to the internet

EVen if you are on holiday in UK for ten working days, contactable by phone and willing to come back for an interview/start a job if you should get one, then this is definitely allowed under JSA so work related training should not be a problem here.

as this is training and also ten working days, then I see no reason why your JSA should not continue, provided you agree to the terms (check these requirements obviously)

If it was easy enough to get back to sign on (and prove your job search activities as per normal), this would be very straightforward, but if you cannot, then you will have to let them know your whereabouts and your activity, and you will also have to sign on your return. Speak to your advisor.

It would have helped if you had told us this was a JCP approved/ arranged course in the first place.

I am due to start one on the 16th for 2 weeks. I was told even though i do not need to provide the amount of jobs i would usualy search for, im expected to "make an effort" on the weekends, however i am unsure as to how many that means.
